Timbers Lose PK Shootout To Club America; Still Qualify For Knockout Stage Of Leagues Cup

  Q2 Stadium, Austin, Texas: After a 1-1 after 90 minutes, and with overtime dispensed with on Wednesday night, Club America defeated the Portland Timbers 5-3 in the penalty-kick shootout. The Timbers, who still picked up a point, still qualified for the tournament's knockout stage. Leagues Cup: Timbers Stay Perfect

  At Providence Park, Portland, Oregon:  Chrishtian Peredes scored the only goal of the match in the 36th minute while James Pantemis made two saves for his shoutout at the Portland Timbers on Saturday night defeated Liga MX's Queretaro 1-0 as they now have a perfect six points for two games in Leagues Cup play. The Timbers will close out phase one in Austin, Texas against Club America this coming Wednesday (6:30 PDT/Apple TV/Fox Sports One/KTXG Radio [750 AM]).

Leagues Cup: Timbers Much Too Strong For Atletico San Luis

At Providence Park, Portland, Oregon: David Da Costa (1'), Kevin Kelsey (56'), Ariel Lassirter (73') and Felipe Mora (78') each scored a goal on Wednesday as the Portland Timbers walloped Atletico San Luis 4-0 in their Leagues Cup opener.   The Timbers will take on Queretaro in Leagues Cup play at Providence Park on Saturday at 8:00 PM PDT (Apple TV/Fox Sports/KXTG Radio).

England Wins Women's Euro Championships After PK Shootout

  At St. Jakob's Park, Basel, Switzerland: After 120 minutes with the score deadlocked at 1-1, Alex Greenwood, Niamn Louise Charles, and Chloe Kelly each converted a penalty kick in the shootout as England defeated Spain and won the 2025 Women's European Tournament finals. The Lionesses avenged their 1-0 defeat to Spain in the championship match of the 2023 FIFA World Cup in Australia. England defended their Women's Euro championship from 2022 when defeating Germany 2-1 in overtime.

Timber Knock Off LAFC On Road

  At BMO Stadium, Los Angeles: Christian Paredes scored the only goal of the match in the 45th minute of Friday as the Portland Timbers knocked off the Los Angeles Football Club 1-0 on the road on Friday to climb up to fifth place in the Major League Soccer Western Conference standings. The Timbers will take part in the Leagues Cup this coming Wednesday at home against Atletico de San Luis (Apple TV/Fox Sports One, 7:30 PM PDT). Portland next MLS match is on Saturday, August 9, on the road against FC Dallas (5:30 PM Pacific Time/Apple TV/KXTG Radio).

Late Goal Gains Home Draw For Timbers With Loons

  At Providence Park, Portland, Oregon Omir Fernandez's equalizing goal in the second minute of second-half stoppage time lifted the Portland Timbers to a 1-1 home draw with Minnesota United on Saturday in Major League Soccer action. Anthony Markanich scored for the Loons in the 78th minute. The Timbers, who celebrated their 50 years of existence, will visit the Los Angeles Football Club this coming Friday at 7:30 PM. The Timbers find themselves in sixth place in the Western Conference of MLS.

Timbers Fall To 6th In MLS Western Conference After Falling to RSL

At Providence Park, Portland Oregon: Diego Goncalves scored the only goal in the 83rd minute on Wednesday as Real Salt Lake knocked off the homestanding Portland Timbers 1-0.   The Timbers, who lost at home for the first time since their February 23 season opener,  have now fallen to sixth place in Major League Soccer's Western Conference.   The Timbers will host Minnesota United at 7:30 PM Pacific Time (telecast on Apple TV and on KXTG AM)
