2025 MLS Cup: Leo The Lion Helps Inter Miami Top Nashville In Series Open

 At Chase Stadium, Fort Lauderdale, Florida:


Lionel Messi scored twice (19', 90'+6) as Inter Miami held off visiting Nashville in the opening match of a best-of-three Eastern Conference quarterfinal series as the MLS Cup Playoffs entered its' final round of 16 on Friday.

The series will continue next Saturday at 4:30 PM PDT at Geodis Park in Nashville (Apple TV).

Late Goal Gains Home Draw For Timbers With Loons

  At Providence Park, Portland, Oregon Omir Fernandez's equalizing goal in the second minute of second-half stoppage time lifted the Portland Timbers to a 1-1 home draw with Minnesota United on Saturday in Major League Soccer action. Anthony Markanich scored for the Loons in the 78th minute. The Timbers, who celebrated their 50 years of existence, will visit the Los Angeles Football Club this coming Friday at 7:30 PM. The Timbers find themselves in sixth place in the Western Conference of MLS.
