Rose Lavelle (named the game's Most Valuable Player) scored the only goal of the match in the 80th minute on Saturday as the Gotham Football Club defeated the Washington Spirit 1-0 to win the National Women's Soccer League Championship Game.

It was GFC's second league title in the last three years.

  At BMO Stadium, Los Angeles: Christian Paredes scored the only goal of the match in the 45th minute of Friday as the Portland Timbers knocked off the Los Angeles Football Club 1-0 on the road on Friday to climb up to fifth place in the Major League Soccer Western Conference standings. The Timbers will take part in the Leagues Cup this coming Wednesday at home against Atletico de San Luis (Apple TV/Fox Sports One, 7:30 PM PDT). Leagues Cup: Timbers Much Too Strong For Atletico San Luis
