MLS Cup Final: Leo The Lion's Two Assists Power Herons To First MLS Cup Crown

 At Chase Stadium, Fort Lauderdale, Florida:


Lionel Messi assisted on two goals (Rodrigo De Paul in the 71st minute and Tadeo Allende (sixth minute of second-half stoppage time) on Saturday as Inter Miami defeated the visiting Vancouver Whitecaps 3-1 for their first MLS Cup championship.


Ali Ahmed scored for the visitors in the 60th minute.


The Caps' Edier Ocampo helped the Herons with his own goal in the eighth minute.


It was Vancouver's first appearance in an MLS Cup Final.
