Timbers Come Back, Open MLS Season With Home Win Over Crew

 At Providence Park, Portland, Oregon:


Ariel Lassiter scored the game-wining goal in the 88th minute on Saturday night as the Portland Timbers battled back to hold off the visiting Columbus Crew 2-1 in the Major League Soccer regular-season opener for both teams.


Filipe Mora (14') and Antony (20') each scored once for the Timbers.


Wessam Abou Ali (6') and Diego Rossi (44') scored the Columbus goals.


The Timbers will next visit the Colorado Rockies this coming Saturday at 1:30 PM Pacific Time (TV: Apple TV, Radio: KRKS, 95.1 FM, 1080 AM)
