Timbers Score Late Goal To Upend LAFC

At Providence Park, Portland, Oregon: 


Kevin Kelsy scored the winning goal in the sixth minute of second-half stoppage time on Saturday as the Portland Timbers ended a five-game winless streak in Major League Soccer action by knocking off the previously unbeaten Los Angeles Football Club 2-1.  


Kristoffer Velde also scored for Portland in the 32nd minute.  


Jude Terry scored for the Angelinos in the 49th minute. 


Next up for the Timbers, a road match with Minnesota United at Allianz Field in St. Paul next Saturday at 5:30 PM Pacific Time on Apple TV (also on radio on KSRX Radio, 105.1 FM).

Late Goal Gains Home Draw For Timbers With Loons

  At Providence Park, Portland, Oregon Omir Fernandez's equalizing goal in the second minute of second-half stoppage time lifted the Portland Timbers to a 1-1 home draw with Minnesota United on Saturday in Major League Soccer action. Anthony Markanich scored for the Loons in the 78th minute. The Timbers, who celebrated their 50 years of existence, will visit the Los Angeles Football Club this coming Friday at 7:30 PM. The Timbers find themselves in sixth place in the Western Conference of MLS.
