Quakes Prove Too Much For Timbers

 At Providence Park, Portland, Oregon:


Preston Judd scored twice (2', 12') and Daniel Munie once (24') as the San Jose Earthquakes outdistanced the Portland Timbers 3-1 on the road in Saturday Major League Soccer action.


Antony scored the lone Portland goal at 18 minutes.


This marked the first time in 16 years that the Quakes defeated the Timbers in the Rose City.


The Timbers' next MLS match will come on Thursday, July 16 on the road against the Seattle Sounders in a Cascadia Cup contest at 7:30 PM Pacific Time (Apple TV/KSRX Radio 1080 AM, 105.1 FM).

Late Goal Gains Home Draw For Timbers With Loons

  At Providence Park, Portland, Oregon Omir Fernandez's equalizing goal in the second minute of second-half stoppage time lifted the Portland Timbers to a 1-1 home draw with Minnesota United on Saturday in Major League Soccer action. Anthony Markanich scored for the Loons in the 78th minute. The Timbers, who celebrated their 50 years of existence, will visit the Los Angeles Football Club this coming Friday at 7:30 PM. The Timbers find themselves in sixth place in the Western Conference of MLS.
