Timbers Smother Visiting SKC

 At Providence Park, Portland, Oregon:


Kevin Kelsey scored twice (15', 74') as the Portland Timbers massacred visiting Sporting Kansas City 6-0 in Saturday night Major League Soccer action.


It was the biggest margin of victory in the MLS history of the Timbers.


Other goals for Portland came from Kristoffer Velde (6'), Cole Bassett (22'), Jacob Davis (OG-26'), and Ariel Lassiter (71').


Portland will next visit CF Montreal (at Saputo Stadium) in a Wednesday league match at 4:30 PM Pacific Time (Apple TV/KRSK Radio 105.1FM).

Late Goal Gains Home Draw For Timbers With Loons

  At Providence Park, Portland, Oregon Omir Fernandez's equalizing goal in the second minute of second-half stoppage time lifted the Portland Timbers to a 1-1 home draw with Minnesota United on Saturday in Major League Soccer action. Anthony Markanich scored for the Loons in the 78th minute. The Timbers, who celebrated their 50 years of existence, will visit the Los Angeles Football Club this coming Friday at 7:30 PM. The Timbers find themselves in sixth place in the Western Conference of MLS.
